mendocino & a breath of fresh air | personal

Ahhhh. Never underestimate the power of a good vacation to rejuvenate your body and mind. No this isn’t a Redbull commercial. This is our third day in the small town of Mendocino, about three hours north of San Francisco. If I could move anywhere to get away from it all, this is where I’d go. My parents and I used to vacation here when I was a kid, and I had the same thought even then. It’s like the Cape Cod of the west coast (I’ve never been to Cape Cod, but this is what I imagine it would be)!

We had good fortune with the weather yesterday – the sun came out just in time for us to go ocean cave kayaking (pictures soon to come). Otherwise, the weather has been quite a chilly surprise! Feels like the coldest of winter days in Southern Cali. We’ll see if it’s any warmer in San Fran – we are headed there after our current pit stop at our local internet cafe. So excited, but sad to leave this peaceful place. I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking :) We’ll try to do another update on Friday. Hope everyone is having a good week!

After so many years of my Dad photographing family events, he's finally getting used to me turning the camera on him! He and my mom are very patient models :)

Randy shot this by shooting blindly over his shoulder as we walked. I thought I'd give him a little surprise!

Randy was supremely excited with this shot - two butterflies took off as he approached and he managed to get them in focus as they fluttered away :)
