project | nursery complete!

Rejoice! The nursery is DONE!!! We actually finished all of the hard work (painting, furniture building, etc.) a couple of weeks ago, but it took us awhile to decide on prints for the frames (all of which are temporary until we get pictures of Linus himself!) It was a very fun hands-on project for us. Designing a space from scratch can be a little daunting, but also super exciting! The nursery is now my favorite room in the house! I hope Linus likes it :)

A very big THANK YOU to my awesome parents who spent a whole weekend painting and furniture building with us! I can’t imagine how long it would have taken without their help!

What would Linus’ nursery be without a tribute poster to Peanuts?

I think this is Blossom’s new favorite room too :)

Before…

After!!!

We had this peg board left over from a previous project and decided to paint it yellow. The metal surf-theme posters we found at a local antique store. There’s really no “theme” to the nursery (other than the obvious yellow, gray and white colors).

Left: We found this funky, hand-cut metal “L” at the Pasadena Flea Market. We painted it yellow, mounted it to a light gray mat board, and stuck it in a vintage frame found at a local antique store, that we painted white.

Right: IKEA :)

I love the bay windows in this room. Gives it such a fun, cottage-y feel!

Frames: IKEA. Shelf: vintage and painted white. Drapes: Target.

Our ode to Blossom. Apparently she’s really excited to be above the changing table :)

Before…

After!!!

I love this rocking chair! Very simple, clean design – oh, and it’s comfortable too! I wanted something old school, since gliders confuse me.

Rocking chair: Troutman Piedmont Rocking Chair. Poster: Designed by Randy and mounted in an IKEA frame.

Left: Where would we be without IKEA? The only thing not from IKEA is the lamp from Target, which we painted yellow.

Right: FLOR rug = LEGIT, crib from Pottery Barn.

The nursery is only one part of our entire house project we’ve been working on for the last couple of months. Tune in next week to see the rest!
