Random-ness & Sleep-less nights | personal
Yikes! It’s been awhile since we’ve posted. I apologize. But here! To make up for it, I give you: complete randomness!
Random #1: This past weekend, I (Erin) had the pleasure of working with some good friends on a collaborative exhibition. We set up an installation in one of the galleries on the Cal State Fullerton campus. It was a LOT of work, but also a whole mess of fun! It was so great to work with my hands again! The installation deals with the idea of voyeurism and places the viewer in a space where they are simultaneously the viewer and the viewed. It’s quite an experience when you walk through it – very trippy with all the mirrors and projectors. It took a lot of team work, planning, sweat, sleep-less nights, and two visits from the cops and fire department to make it all happen, but it was well worth it. If you happen to be in the Fullerton area this week, the show is up until Thursday.
Random #2: While my amazing collaborators stayed up the entire night building (literally for over 17 hours straight!) I had to steal away for my brothers’ birthday shin-dig. Some of you may know that I have twin older brothers, so if I were to miss one birthday celebration, I’d miss two! And that means double the payback. It was nice to break away from the gallery construction zone, but everyone seemed a little tired and it turned out to be a fairly short celebration – which was fine because I couldn’t quite see straight (and not due to alcohol, mind you!). But good times were had non-the-less! And I’ll still always be younger than them – so BOO-YA!!! I win. They fail.
