thanksgiving & and the big surprise | personal

First off, the results of last week’s post: Picture #1 was taken by… me! And #2 was Randy’s. That was way too easy… next time I’ve got to throw a twist in the mix…

I hope everyone had a fun-filled holiday weekend! I can’t believe Thanksgiving has come and gone already! We had quite a lovely little vacation. As I’ve mentioned before, my family goes camping in Idyllwild for Thanksgiving. As usual, we had a blast! And we were met by a very big surprise when we woke up Saturday morning… snow!!! When we arrived Friday, the skies were perfectly blue and clear. It was practically t-shirt weather. As we were sitting around the camp fire that night, my Dad and his trusty iPhone revealed that a storm was headed our way. We were a little skeptical of the forecast, but sure enough, the next morning we unzipped our tent to reveal a literal winter wonderland. A good two inches of snow had fallen! It was awesome! We’ve never had an Idyllwild experience quite like this before! Even with the snow, our traditions remained the same: we wine tasted, hunted around the shops, walked the town, and watched New Moon at the local theater (that still doubles as a performance theater.) Good times :) Here are some pictures and video to prove it!

We spent Thursday with Randy’s mom and the delicious turkey she made :)

The journey begins: the excitement is written all over her face.

I bet you don't take as many pictures of your dog as we do! Oh our poor future children...

I really enjoy putting these little videos together, but perhaps I’m the only one enjoying them? Leave me a comment if you think I should keep doing these :)
